The 2026 Your Local Club Regional Academy Games Netball competition is set to take centre stage from 17–19 April at the Tamworth Sports Dome, bringing together some of the most exciting emerging talent from across regional NSW.
Supported by Netball NSW, the event showcases the strength and depth of the state’s regional pathways, with more than 190 athletes representing 12 academies and 24 teams — the largest participation of any sport across the Games.
Netball is one of six sports featured in the three-day tournament, hosted by the Northern Inland Academy of Sport, highlighting the important role regional academies play in developing future talent.
Across the three days, players will have the opportunity to test themselves against the best emerging talent from across NSW, while also developing key skills both on and off the court.
Beyond the on-court action, the Academy Games also play a vital role in strengthening the wider netball community. A team of 30 developing umpire athletes will officiate throughout the competition, gaining hands-on experience in a high-performance setting.
Coaches and officials will also benefit from the opportunity to further develop their skills, contributing to the long-term growth of the sport.
Events like the Regional Academy Games are critical in supporting talent identification and development, while also fostering connections between athletes, coaches and officials from across the state.
They provide a platform not only for competition, but for learning, growth and exposure to elite pathways.
