NSW Marie Little Shield Team

The NSW Marie Little Shield (MLS) team will be looking to defend their title as National Champions when the Netball Australia’s national all-abilities events starts on Friday 15 September.

Introduced in 2013, the Marie Little Shield netball competition provides female athletes with an intellectual disability the chance to represent their state at a national level. The competition is named after Marie Little (OAM), a netballer who dedicated her life to those with an intellectual disability.

“Travelling to Melbourne will bring challenges, but the team are very excited to play high quality netball and to meet up with friends from the other states.” says Head Coach Therri Ellison

“I am very excited to be working with these athletes again this year. They continue to impress me with their level of improvement and willingness to try new things. I look forward to seeing what they can achieve in Victoria this year.” 

Presented with Visit Victoria as the Official Event Host Partner, the 2023 edition will be contested at Waverley Netball Centre across three days from Friday 15 September.  Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia will all return to participate.
