Netball NSW School programs have achieved record participation throughout Term 1 and Term 2 in 2021. Over 15,500 students across 169 Schools participated in a Netball NSW School clinic and/or Sporting Schools program – our highest participation rate ever!
The Netball NSW Schools Cup also returned in 2021 with a COVID-19 safety plan in place to ensure the safety of all participants. An overwhelming number of registrations have been received for the local days across the whole state with 477 schools registering so far. This has seen a total of 1,558 teams and 15,497 participants between the ages of 9 – 16 getting back out onto the netball court in 2021, with a few local days still to come!
In response to the increased demand for Netball NSW School programs, a Development Officer recruitment drive has been conducted to significantly increase our network. In response, 50 new Development Officers have been recruited across the state since January 2021. This allows for more schools to book in for programs, more participants to be reached and most importantly more Netball to be played!
