Netball NSW would like to congratulate Shauna Winchester from Ku-Ring-Gai Netball Association who was recently awarded the All Australia Umpiring Award (AA).
Revered as a badge of excellence it takes an enormous amount of commitment, dedication and resilience to achieve this award.
Shauna has come through the NSW and Netball Australia Umpiring Pathways. She has umpired in NSW for many years umpiring the Netball NSW Premier League since its inception, has umpired at National Championships, SN Reserves, Australian Netball Championships and has already umpired numerous Suncorp Super Netball games.
Shauna is thrilled with this achievement and becomes the 47th person in NSW to have achieved this award.
“I am truly honoured to have been awarded the All Australia Badge. It was always a dream as a young umpire, and I still can’t quite believe it.
I am truly grateful for the support I have received from fellow umpires and for the encouragement that has been unwavering from my coaches at Netball NSW and Netball Australia. They have helped to shape me into a better umpire but also a more resilient person,” Winchester says.
Mardi Aplin, General Manager Performance and Pathways is delighted with the news
“Netball NSW congratulates Shauna on this significant achievement. It is a reflection of her dedication and commitment and a proud moment for herself, and all those that have supported the talented umpire in her journey.
We look forward to watching the newly badged AA in action in the future and wish her every success as she continues to strive for further growth”
