Southern Highlands District Netball Association have won this year’s Netball NSW Woolworths NetSetGO Centre of the Year Award.
The award recognises a Centre who delivers the best Woolworths NetSetGO Experience for their participants and brings the Woolworths NetSetGO values to life across their programs!
Southern Highlands has grown from 4 registered players last year to 15 this year. They have a dedicated co-ordinator, Kate Compagnoni, and her junior assistant who are there every week, bringing fun to the courts for the littlest players and lovers of netball.
“Kate is an inspirational coach, who is fun, energetic, kind, organised and reliable. The children have warmed to her and are so excited to see her each week. She goes above and beyond, and has created a safe, welcoming, educational time for the children” says Southern Highlands Sarah Gillet
Kate also approached the local Woolworths at the start of the season and organised for a FREE morning tea every Saturday for after our Woolworths NetsetGO session. Each week there is fruit and juice poppers and a sweet treat to enjoy thanks to Woolworths Bowral.
Each week the association have a set routine for must have skills to learn and they make sure they get those in and practice. They also change up the games and introduce something fun each week. Two players each week get a swistle and they get to blow it for the start of each game or to signal play.
In wet weather Southern Highlands changed locations to an indoor play centre and got our training in before heading to the play zone to help promote the kids making new friendships.
Congratulations to Southern Highlands Woolworths NetSetGO Centre who have won a prize pack valued at $500. Thank you to Woolworths for their ongoing support of our Woolworths NetSetGO initiatives.
