Netball NSW is delighted to welcome Manuel Vlandis on board as the organisation’s new Chief Financial Officer.
A highly experienced senior executive, Vlandis joins netball with a proven track record across a range of industries including recruitment, broadcast and sport, and in the context of sport possesses experience in different aspects of the sporting federated model.
From 2010 to 2018 he served as Chief Financial Officer of NRL club the Sydney Roosters before subsequently holding the same role at both Australian Sailing and A-League side Sydney FC.
He previously held senior finance roles with online recruitment firm Monster Worldwide, Swedish broadcast company VIASAT and global risk management firm International SOS.
Vlandis is excited to start his new venture in netball.
“I have long admired what this sport has built all over Australia, and especially in New South Wales where it is the standout leader for women and young girls in sport,” he said.
“I am also very excited to be working with both the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball, who have some of the finest athletes in Australian sport in their teams. To see so many NSW-based players dominate on the international stage is a testament to strong performance foundations in place.
“In my past roles in sport I’ve been able to contribute not only my financial acumen to each organisation, but my desire to ensure the working environment is collaborative, positive and high-performing to ensure all elements are able to thrive.
“I would like to thank Tracey Scott (CEO) and the Board of Netball NSW for this opportunity and look forward to working with the staff and the wider netball community to assist the game’s continued growth.”
Scott said Vlandis was a standout candidate and would be a wonderful addition to the Netball NSW Executive Team.
“Manuel has been embedded in the NSW sporting landscape for almost 15 years and knows what a competitive and complex environment we’re in, so to have him join the Netball NSW team is a real boost.
“At Netball NSW we have a clear strategy about how we want to support and grow our game to go in the coming years, particularly with the 2027 Netball World Cup to be held in Sydney. It is critical to have strong leadership to both oversee our financial management, and to support execution of our strategic plan.
“This is to ensure we’re both brave and visionary, but also considered and prudent.
“Most importantly, Manuel has a strong track record with supporting stakeholders both internal and external.”
