Netball NSW would like to acknowledge and celebrate Liz Shaw, as she steps down from her position as Head Coach of the North Coast Academy of Sport (NCAS).
A Netball NSW coach, Shaw has shown commitment and passion in her four years as Head Coach, and three years as Assistant Coach. She leaves the Academy with a very strong culture among the coaching staff and she hopes stepping aside will allow other coaches within the North Coast region to benefit from the opportunities she has been afforded in the Academy space.
"The experience has been invaluable to my coaching knowledge, and I want all coaches to have that experience,” she said.
NCAS Sports Program Manager Claire McCulloch noted that “Liz has been recognised as well-loved among athletes due to her open coaching methods which bring young netballers together.”
Shaw will not be far from the courts as life after NCAS will see her continue to coach Club and Representative teams with the Ballina Netball Association and remain involved in the development of regional athletes and coaches. Shaw is passionate about developing culturally safe spaces for all regional athletes to develop as they strive to progress along the Netball NSW pathway.
Netball NSW extends its sincere gratitude and congratulations to Shaw for the impact she has had on many young athletes and wishes her all the best in future endeavours.
