Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd April saw approximately 250 athletes, 26 umpire athletes, 15 umpire coaches and 38 coaches arrive in Wagga Wagga for the Your Local Club Academy Games.
Your Local Club Academy Games show cases some of the states most talented emerging athletes across seven (7) sports including Basketball, Cycling, Golf, Hockey, Indoor Volleyball, Triathlon and of course Netball. In 2023 the event was hosted by the Southern Sports Academy.
Our athletes, umpire athletes and coaching teams arrived from all over NSW and had representatives from all twelve (12) Academies. To see the full list of Academies please click here.
Netball was extremely lucky to have Anita Keelan (Netball Australia’s Pathway Head Coach) and Jill McIntosh (Former Diamonds Head Coach and Player) assist in mentoring our coaches and talent identifying the next generation of NSW athletes coming through our Netball NSW pathway.
Our Umpire coaches worked hard with the Academy umpires and were able to badge 6 Umpire athletes over the weekend. Congratulations for the following umpire athletes:

At the end of the weekend The Rising Star Umpire Award was awarded. This is voted among the umpire coaches and was awarded to Mackenzie Knox from Northern Inland Academy of Sport.
Throughout the weekend coaches selected one athlete from the opposition team after each match and these points were added up and awarded to a Most Valuable Player (MVP) of each team.
