2020 Schools Cup cancelled but stay tuned, we are pivoting towards something new and exciting!
Netball NSW has made the difficult decision to officially cancel the 2020 Netball NSW Schools Cup Competition which was previously postponed due to COVID-19, including regional and state finals.
This decision has been made reluctantly following the release of the new Public Health Order provided by the NSW Government on 1 July 2020. The safety and wellbeing of staff and students is always Netball NSW’s number one priority.
After reviewing the new Public Health Order, Netball NSW concluded given the mass participation nature of the Netball NSW Schools Cup and current staff capacity, we would not be able to ensure a COVID safe event.
General Manager, Communities Lauren Woods said, “Netball NSW is still committed to providing opportunities for students to experience netball and be active. Netball NSW looks forward to running Schools Cup in our traditional format again in 2021.
“In the meantime, our staff are working on something special for teachers and students to be involved in for the remainder of 2020” she said.
“We would like to thank the local Netball Associations who had agreed to host a 2020 Netball NSW Schools Cup Competition before COVID-19, thank you for your patience as we worked our way to this difficult decision.”

Netball NSW Staff are now returning to deliver face to face clinics and program in Schools across NSW. Either through the Sporting Schools Program or via our own Netball NSW School Clinics.
