Anne Clarke Service Award Panel
The Anne Clarke Service Award is awarded to individuals in recognition of their significant contribution to development of Netball at an Association Level . This award the highest accolade that Netball NSW can pay to its volunteers at the Association level.
This Panel will meet and consider the nominations received in accordance with the Netball NSW Volunteer Recognition and Awards Policy
Netball NSW is looking for panel members who
- Have an understanding of the Anne Clark Service Award history.
- Have an understanding of Association development.
- Have the ability to operate effectively as a member of a small team.
- Are registered Member of Netball NSW

Netball NSW Tribunal Chairperson and Members
Netball NSW conducts various Tribunals throughout the year. These include Hearing Tribunals, Disciplinary Tribunals and Appeals Tribunals. These Tribunals deal with a variety of issues including Member Protection complaints, on-court disciplinary matters, appeals from Affiliate and Netball NSW Tribunal decisions and appeals relating to Netball NSW managed competitions.
Netball NSW maintains a register of persons that it may call on from time to time to either chair or sit on these Tribunals but in the interests of involving a greater range of individuals, we are now calling for expressions of interest from interested persons to sit on Netball NSW Tribunals as either Chairperson or a Tribunal member.
Affiliates are requested to circulate this memorandum to interested members and a copy will be placed on the Netball NSW website. It is anticipated that education and training will be provided by Netball NSW to all Chairpersons/Tribunal members in the near future.
The following role descriptions should be considered when applying:
Chairperson
The Chairperson will:
- provide an initial assessment of progress within the Tribunal matter and read such preliminary material as necessary
- raise with any proposed member of the Tribunal any potential or possible conflict of interest
- chair hearings of the Tribunal, and deal with any ancillary matters, in accordance with the relevant policy document
- together with the other members of the Tribunal, make findings in relation to the relevant matter and determine the appropriate penalty
- ensure accurate records are kept of all of the Tribunal’s proceedings and decisions
- communicate to all relevant persons, the outcome of the Tribunal hearing and provide a written record where required
- A knowledge of the sport of netball is helpful but not essential.
- Attend NNSW training as required.
The Chairperson may hold another position within Netball NSW or an Affiliate provided there is no conflict of interest.
The Chairperson should, if possible, have some form of legal background or be a lawyer or be experienced in the chairing of Tribunals as there are important processes that need to be followed. A knowledge of the sport of netball is helpful but not essential.
Tribunal member
The Tribunal member will:
- read such preliminary material as necessary
- attend and sit upon hearings of the Tribunal
- together with the other members of the Tribunal, make findings in relation to the relevant matter and determine the appropriate penalty
- A knowledge of the sport of netball is helpful but not essential.
- Attend NNSW training as required.
A Tribunal member may hold another position within Netball NSW or an Affiliate or an affiliated club or team provided there is no conflict of interest.
