17U Round 3: NSW 46 South Australia 29. Head Coach Amber Cross was thrilled with the disciplined display from her young team against top of the ladder SA. Captain Monika ’Otai shot with confidence and inspired the same from her teammates and Bella Degei was a powerhouse in defence; seemingly coming out of nowhere to disrupt SA’s rhythm with crucial turnovers.
19U Round 3: NSW 34 South Australia 27. The reigning champion South Australians jumped to a quick lead and it took NSW until the second half to wrestle it back, but once they edged in front the 19U girls were determined not to let their opponents back into the game. Particularly impressive were Kiara and Erin Bloor, the mighty twins from Camden and Stingrays. Their aerial game, smart release of the ball, ability to win back ball at critical moments and shooting accuracy from Kiara were major factors in this important round win.
17U Round 4: NSW 43 Tasmania 26. The home state certainly had the home crowd advantage but NSW proved too strong. Brooke Rooney really troubled the shooters with her long reach over the shot and constant defensive pressure and Neveah Matenga came out blazing at centre, controlling the tempo and taking some spectacular intercepts.
19U Round 4 NSW 38 TAS 21. Defensive duo Charli Fidler and Erin O’Brien had another fabulous game against Tassie and the shooting end - led by the calm composure and shooting accuracy of Lucy Matthews - honoured their hard work with a high conversion of turnovers. Sammi Bondietti added a real spark at centre, the ACT native looked very much at home in her first NSW team and contributed strongly to the second win of the day.
