More than 40 Connect & Learn Workshops have successfully been held across the month of May and almost 1,000 coaches and umpires have been informed and challenged by many of New South Wales’ most experienced presenters.
As sessions continue, coaches and umpires are encouraged to take up the opportunity to attend these workshops to gain valuable insights from the state’s best.
For coaches, former Australian Diamonds Coach, Jill McIntosh, will present ‘What, How and Why of Coaching’, ‘An 8 -step action plan and killer cue words for State Titles Feedback’ will be held by State Team Coach Amber Cross and Australian Diamonds Specialist Coach Megan Anderson will take you through ‘A chance to Talk Attacking Tactics’.
Umpires will have the chance to hear from Maureen Boyle OAM about ‘How to coach beginner umpires’, Bronwen Adams will lead ‘Obstruction’ and there will be a session targeted at National C umpires on identifying minor infringements with Lauren Hill.
Feedback on sessions has been overwhelmingly positive with one participant stating they “absolutely loved the umpire sessions, they have allowed me to keep the mindset of netball returning sometime soon. Have had some lightbulb moments too!”
One attendee said: “I think that this platform of learning is fantastic - I have really enjoyed the sessions, have taken so much away from and cannot wait to use the many great ideas.”
For regional coaches and umpires, Connect and Learn could be the future for their upskilling: “This digital workshop form is ideal for regional coaches wishing to further their education, to have that 'bugging' question answered by the best, because we all want the best for our players, our teams and our clubs.”
HOW THE COURSES WORK
Workshops are delivered via Zoom in the comfort of your home and cost only $10. Registration is via MyNetball. To see how to how to access the courses in MyNetball please CLICK HERE.
Coaches and umpires will be given five (5) accreditation points for each workshop they attend.
The calendar will be updated on the Netball NSW website on Wednesdays at midday.
Please note each workshop is limited to 25 places, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis!
