And that’s a wrap! Last night was not only the final round of the Court Craft Summer Series for the year but it also marked the end of the 2020 netball competition season at Netball Central.
The Opens Division 3 and 4 were the teams to step on court for the last time in 2020.
Determining the top two spots all came down to last night for Division 4.
Inner West came into the round with only one loss and sitting proud on top of the ladder and Eastwood Ryde had the opportunity to jump Sutherland Shire who had a bye this week. It really came down to the wire and these teams stepped up to the plate to secure the top spots in their Division.
It all came together for Inner West in the final quarter against Parramatta as it was neck and neck throughout the entire game. Strong passes and solid defence were what brought it all together for the team as they were crowned the Division 4 Champions.
Hills District brought their A-game against Eastwood Ryde as they made ERNA work for the second place. In the end it was Eastwood Ryde who flew away with the win by 8 goals in the final quarter to be named the Runners Up for the division.
With Campbelltown having an extraordinary season, with no losses and finishing on perfect points, they had already claimed the victory in the Opens Division 3 before the final round even commenced!
This meant it was down to it was down to Randwick and St George to battle it out for the second spot in the Division. It was a tough match as they teams have been evenly matched all season; however, it was Randwick who were the dominant force and managed to overpower St George in a tight nit encounter 38 – 33.
Netball NSW would again like to congratulate our 2020 Winners and Runners Up for the Court Craft Summer Series competition. We look forward to seeing you all back on the netty courts in 2021 for a bigger and better year!
