Spirits were running high last night as teams competed for the top two spots in the Opens Division 1 & 2 for the Final Round of Court Craft Summer Series.
It was a tight race for second place in Division 2 with Eastwood Ryde, Baulkham Hills Shire and Inner Western Suburbs all battling to take out St George District who came into Round 7 with a bye and sitting in runner up position.
In the end it was Eastwood Ryde who took out Inner West to claim second spot in the Division, defeating St George by a match percentage ratio of less than 2 percent!
Camden & District were unstoppable and cruised through the season remaining undefeated. Baulkham Hills made them work for it last night as they lead the match up until half time, however Camden then revved it up a gear and proved they were the best in the comp, taking out the Opens Division 2 Championship.
It was all eyes on St George District and Liverpool City in the Opens Division 1 as both teams came into the match undefeated. It was only fitting that these two teams battled it out for the top spot in the final round and what a fight it was!
Strong defence and accurate shooting were what won it for St George District last night as Liverpool City fell short by just 6 goals with a final score of 49-43.
It was an impressive season of netball for all teams competing this year and we congratulate our Winners and Runners Up in our Opens Division 1 and 2!
