The big dance is here and we are down to just twelve teams as we head into the 2022 DOOLEYS Metro League Grand Finals. It has been a nail-biter of a week across all divisions in their Preliminary Finals with majority of the games decided in the final minutes and even seconds of these games.
Division 3 and 4 will start off our week of Grand Finals at Netball Central, see below for the match-ups:
Division 3 GRAND FINAL – Baulkham Hills Shire v Hills District @ 8.30pm on Show Court
Division 4 GRAND FINAL – Camden & District v Liverpool City @ 6.45pm on Show Court
In Division 3, Baulkham Hills Shire won their Semi-Final match heading straight into the Grand Final while Hills District, who finished in fourth place after minor rounds, fought through two tough matches taking wins by as little as 1 goal to earn their place in the Division 3 Grand Final. Hills District have taken the win on both occasions over Baulkham Hills Shire during the minor rounds and will have to prove how they earnt first place in Division 3 of the DOOLEYS Metro League competition.
In Division 4, Camden & District won their Semi-Final match knocking first place Liverpool City to a Preliminary Final while Camden & District took their place in the Grand Final match. Liverpool City had a goal for goal match against Baulkham Hills Shire in the Preliminary Final right up until the fourth quarter where Liverpool City stormed home with the win. This is sure to be a tight match that will have everyone on the edge of their seats.
Division 5 and 6 will play their Grand Finals on Tuesday night at Netball Central, see below for the match-ups:
Division 5 GRAND FINAL – Manly Warringah v Campbelltown District @ 8.30pm on Show Court
Division 6 GRAND FINAL – Sutherland Shire v Ku-ring-gai @ 6.45pm on Show Court
In Division 5, Manly Warringah won their Semi-Final match knocking first place Campbelltown District to the Preliminary Final while Manly Warringah took their place in the Grand Final match. The Preliminary Final was a narrow win for Campbelltown District finishing only two goals ahead of St George District, this match was a heart stopper and we aren’t expecting anything less from the Division 5 Grand Final match.
In Division 6, Ku-ring-gai have fought hard for their place in the Grand Final taking their Preliminary Final win by a nail-biter of one goal against Randwick. The last time Sutherland Shire and Ku-ring-gai met, Ku-ring-gai were the victors to come out on top. Sutherland Shire finished three wins ahead of Ku-ring-gai but all that will go out the window in this Division 6 Grand Final match.
Division 1 and 2 will wrap up our week of Grand Finals on Thursday night at Netball Central, see below for the match-ups:
Division 1 GRAND FINAL – Hills District v Northern Suburbs @ 8.30pm on Show Court
Division 2 GRAND FINAL – Northern Suburbs v Randwick @ 6.45pm on Show Court
In Division 1, Hills District have taken both wins against Northern Suburbs by a narrow one-goal margin. No matter the result on Thursday night, with both teams familiar to a narrow margin, this match will be a nail-biter.
In Division 2, after finishing in fourth place Randwick have won their way to the Grand Final. Will they make it a fairytale ending by taking the Grand Final win? Randwick took the win over Northern Suburbs by just one goal the last time these two met however Northern Suburbs will be ready for the action and won’t let this game go without a tough match.
