The long awaited final series for the 2022 DOOLEYS Metro League Competition has arrived after not being able to crown Winners in 2021.
Division 3 and 4 will kick off the finals series on Monday night at Netball Central, see below for the match-ups:
Division 3 Semi-Final #1 – Baulkham Hills Shire v St George District @ 6.45pm on Show Court
Division 3 Semi-Final #2 – Camden & District v Hills District @ 6.45pm on Court 1
Division 4 Semi-Final #1 – Liverpool City v Camden & District @ 8.30pm on Show Court
Division 4 Semi-Final #2 – Baulkham Hills Shire v Hills District @ 8.30pm on Court 1
In Division 3, Baulkham Hills Shire have taken both wins this season in the minor rounds against their opponents St George District, whoever takes the win on this occasion will have earnt their place in the Grand Final with the other team getting a second chance in the Preliminary Final. Camden & District have also taken both wins this season in the minor rounds against Hills District, however the second match was a much closer affair. You can be sure both teams will be putting everything on the court in this elimination final.
In Division 4, Liverpool City and Camden & District will go head to head. Each team has one win a piece this season with only one point separating them on the ladder. In their last match-up, Baulkham Hills Shire took the win over Hills District by just one goal, with the chance of being eliminated on the line, you can be sure that this match will be just as hard fought.
Division 5 and 6 will play their Semi-Finals on Tuesday night at Netball Central, see below for match-ups:
Division 5 Semi-Final #1 – Campbelltown District v Manly Warringah @ 6.45pm on Show Court
Division 5 Semi-Final #2 – St George District v Penrith District @ 6.45pm on Court 1
Division 6 Semi-Final #1 – Sutherland Shire v Randwick @ 8.30pm on Show Court
Division 6 Semi-Final #2 – Ku-ring-gai v Hills District @ 8.30pm on Court 1
In Division 5, Campbelltown District and Manly Warringah are one win a piece, with a second chance on the line the pressure is off for these teams but that doesn’t mean it will be any less of a battle between these two teams. St George District may sit ahead of Penrith District on the ladder however Penrith District are the team with bragging rights going into the semi-final match, taking both minor round wins over St George District this season. St George District will not be letting that stop them from coming in to take the win from Penrith District in this elimination final.
In Division 6, Sutherland Shire had a huge win over Randwick in their first match-up this season, while the second match-up saw the teams finish in a nail biting 49-all draw. If that last match-up is anything to go by, this match-up is going to be close and both teams will be competing for their place in the Grand Final and a week off from the Finals Series. Ku-ring-gai sit two wins and a draw clear of Hills District however each team has claim to one match each this season. Hills District may be the underdogs for this match but could just as easily be the one to come out on top in this match-up.
Division 1 and 2 will finish off the Semi-Finals on Thursday night at Netball Central, see below for match-ups:
Division 1 Semi-Final #1 – Hills District v Ku-ring-gai @ 6.45pm on Show Court
Division 1 Semi-Final #2 – Northern Suburbs v Eastwood Ryde @ 6.45pm on Court 1
Division 2 Semi-Final #1 – Liverpool City v Northern Suburbs @ 8.30pm on Show Court
Division 2 Semi-Final #2 – Hawkesbury City v Randwick @ 8.30pm on Court 1
In Division 1, Hills District have won both matches against Ku-ring-gai this year. Can they make it a clean sweep and take their place in the Division 1 Grand Final or will Ku-ring-gai make them fight for their place in the second chance match in the preliminary finals. Northern Suburbs and Eastwood Ryde sit neck and neck on the ladder and will certainly be a tight match-up as these teams take to the court to prove who deserves that spot in the preliminary finals.
In Division 2, Liverpool City and Northern Suburbs may be feeling a bit of dejavu in the semi-finals as these teams matched up in the final match of the season. Both matches this season have been decided by narrow margins with both teams claiming one match. Hawkesbury City will be looking to prove their worth in these Division 2 finals after being promoted from Division 3 in 2021. With one win on the board each, Randwick will definitely not be letting Hawkesbury Cirt without a tight match.
