Last Friday, 28 August saw some Friday night netty under lights as Port Stephens Netball Associations hosted the Bing Lee Regional League Finals for the Hunter Region.
This followed on from Woy Woy Peninsula Netball who hosted Round 1 and Singleton Netball who hosted Round 2, with all three associations putting in a lot time and effort ensuring .
We were fortunate enough to hold the revised event and we would like to thank all participants involved for their commitment to the health and safety protocols we are required to follow.
Overall, the Rounds and Finals showcased some great netball and showcased all the Hunter region has to offer.
It was Port Stephens 15s versus Port Stephens 17s in the Division 4 Final and it was the young guns who came out on top 22-13.
Division 3 saw an impressive performance from Charlestown 17s to run away with the win 30-16 against Westlakes 17s.
Division 2 saw a tight and high scoring match between Wyong District 17s and Charlestown 15s which led to extra time. However it was the in form Wyong, who had only lost two games across the entire competition, who came out on top 34-28.
In Division 1 it was a battle of Newcastle Netball Association with Newcastle 17s taking on Newcastle Opens. The Opens advanced directly from the Semis to the Final but the 17s had the momentum from their impressive Preliminary Final win against Woy Woy Peninsula Opens which led the younger side to the 19-14 victory.
