At times like these social distancing can be a barrier or an opportunity to think outside the box when it comes to preparation.
For the Maitland 12s rep team, it's the latter and they are making the most of the situation to ensure their netball doesn't suffer as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Coach Lisa Lewis and manager Marette Huckerby say:
"We have nine very dedicated young players in our team who live netball.
"With this downtime they are all still wanting to do their training so we set them skills to do in all relevant areas of the court.
"They then put the video together in their style and one of the Mums produced it for us. We felt it was perfect to add the virtual high five at the beginning and end of the video so they felt connected.
"In the team we have Maddison, Gemma, Ruby, Matilda, Emalee, Evie, Finlay, Paiton and Lana.
"We are looking forward to hopefully playing in 2020."
Great job everyone, you are this week's Netball Heroes. Take a bow! You can watch their full video HERE
What to nominate a Netball Hero?
With the Covid-19 Pandemic putting netball on hold and forcing us to stay home, Netball NSW is using the time off to focus on everyday heroes in our game's state-wide community.
Do you have a Netball Hero in your part of NSW that we can celebrate? It could be a player, a coach, a cook... If you do then please send a note to mediateam@netballnsw.com and we'll get in touch. Alternatively, you can message us on Facebook.
