On Sunday Tamworth Netball Association hosted the Bing Lee Regional League Round 2 and Finals for the Northern Inland Region at Tamworth Sportsdome. This followed on from the Round 1 of competition which was held at Inverell Netball Association on 26 July.
The Division 3 Grand Final saw Inverell’s 15s defeat the Tamworth 14s in what was a close game, 26-23. As voted by umpires, the Dot Lockwood Memorial Most Valuable Player (MVP) for Division 3 was Ella Wyndham from Inverell 14s.
Division 2 saw Tamworth 17s come up against Inverell 17s in what was the match of the day! Inverell had got the win earlier in the day in the round matches but it was Tamworth who brought it home in over time, claiming the title 32-31. The Dot Lockwood Memorial MVP was awarded to Jessica Partridge from Inverell 17s.
In Division 1, host association Tamworth Opens were defeated by Quirindi Opens 28-18 with the Dot Lockwood MVP awarded to Alexandria Brownsmith from Tamworth Opens.
Overall, the event displayed athleticism and sportsmanship through some amazing games of netball with a huge congratulations to all who were involved with the event.
Netball NSW would also like to congratulate those selected in the Northern Inland Regional Team which was selected over the 2 competition days.
