Netball NSW is proud to announce the athletes selected to represent New South Wales at the 2025 Marie Little Shield, netball’s premier national tournament for women with an intellectual disability.
This year’s competition will return to Brisbane’s Nissan Arena from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 September, with eight state and territory teams set to compete for the national title in a round-robin format, culminating in a Grand Final.
Following a historic victory in 2024, Netball NSW will head into the tournament as defending champions, ready to showcase the strength, skill, and spirit of our all-abilities athletes on the national stage once again.
“We’re thrilled to unveil the NSW team for 2025,” said Mardi Aplin, General Manager Performance & Pathways. “With a talented and experienced group of athletes returning, we’re excited to see what they can achieve together as they defend their title on the national stage.”
The Marie Little Shield, established in 2013 and named in honour of netball advocate Marie Little OAM, continues to be a powerful platform for inclusion, providing opportunities for female athletes with an intellectual disability to represent their state at the highest level.
We wish our NSW athletes and coaching staff the very best as they prepare to defend their title and represent their state with pride.
