The Origin Energy Premier League has been Netball NSW's standout club competition since its inception in 2016, and now a new generation of superstars are starting to emerge from it.
Netball NSW's two professional franchises - the NSW Swifts and GIANTS Netball - recently named their Training Partners for the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball season, and the athletes selected have come through the Premier League.
Netball NSW Competitions Manager Claire Dale said it was a testament to the Premier League that so many pathway athletes were using the competition to develop their games.
"The Origin Energy Premier League is vital to the Netball NSW pathway as it provides weekly competition for the best up-and-coming players, many of whom are moving on to the top level," she said.
"Players like Tayla Fraser at the NSW Swifts, who now has two Super Netball Premierships to her name, really shone during their time in the Premier League, while we've also seen the likes of GIANTS Sophie Dwyer and Matisse Letherbarrow step-up too.
"Now, heading into our seventh season we are seeing the first generation of athletes come through who've essentially grown up with the Premier League. The constant match-play they've been afforded has allowed them step-up in their respective Swifts and GIANTS Academies and gain selection as Training Partners."
Netball NSW would like to congratulate the following Premier League athletes who've been selected as NSW Swifts and GIANTS Training Partners.
