In 2024 the North and Far North Coast Regional League Competitions were merged to create an even playing field from Division 1 through to Division 4.
Division 1 and 2 were held at the newly renovated Sportz Central in Coffs Harbour.
In Division 1 we saw Ballina, Nambucca Valley Opens, Grafton Opens, Hastings Valley Opens and the Lismore 1 team battle it out for the top spot.
The success of the merging of the Regions was evident when it came to Semi Finals time and all 3 courts had a North Coast and Far North Coast team fighting for a spot in the Grand Final.
The level of skill on display was outstanding!
In the end it came down to Coffs Harbour Opens and Hastings Valley Opens in the Grand Final, with Hastings coming out on top 24 to 17.
In Division 2 we had Bellingen, Coffs Harbour U17s, Lismore 2, Manning Valley 1, Nambucca Valley U17s and Woolgoolga District 1 take the court.
There were a number of tight games in this Division over the weekend, with one Semi Final, Nambucca Valley U17s and Bellingen, going into extra time. Bellingen took the win by 1 goal to secure their place in the Grand Final.
Bellingen then faced a strong Woolgoolga team in the Grand Final, with Woolgoolga taking the win with 30 goals to 17.
Division 3 and 4 games were played at the fantastic new Wiigulga Sports Complex at Woolgoolga.
Pool games saw some strongly contested games between Grafton 17s, Woolgoolga and Lismore’s development team. Youth combined with some more experienced netballers in the Macleay 1 team displayed classy netball all weekend. This team went through the weekend undefeated, beating a courageous Grafton 17s teams in the Grand final 24-9.
Matches were highly contested between Lower Clarence, Macleay 17s, Manning Valley and Brunswick Byron in this division. An upset draw between Lower Clarence and Brunswick Byron in the last pool game gave Lower Clarence the fire in their belly to come out strong in the Grand Final, defeating Macleay 17s by just one goal. 19-18 in a highly entertaining and skillful match to round out an enjoyable weekend of Regional Netball.
