With the steady return of sport in 2020, Regional Netball has made its return in the West Central West.
On the weekend, Orange hosted the WCW Bing Lee Regional League Finals, showcasing the talent of athletes from the region as they battled it out on the court. After the previous two rounds held in March, all four divisions started the day off with the Semi-final rounds before entering into the nail-biting Grand Final matches.
In Division 4 Orange and Bathurst progressed to the gripping Grand Final match, in which Bathurst was triumphant, 22-20.
Division 3 saw Orange defeat Mudgee in the Semis, allowing them to advance in the Grand Final against Bathurst. In an impressive game Bathurst took home the win, 32-18.
Orange 17s and Bathurst competed in the Division 2 Grand Final and in a showcase game Orange was victorious 36-48.
Finally, in a monumental Division 1 Grand final, Orange Lightning contested against Orange Thunder. With a final score of 36-44, the back and forth game concluded with Orange Thunder’s success.
Overall, the display of athleticism and sportsmanship throughout the WCW Bing Lee Regional League Competition was commendable and a huge congratulations to all who participated.
