The Netball Academy of Sport Program is a partnership between Netball NSW, the Regional Academies of Sport (RASi), and the NSW Office of Sport. Together, we create a supportive, challenging, and fun culture that introduces talented athletes, umpires, and coaches to performance sport. The program is designed to focus on long-term individual development, helping participants unlock their potential both on and off the court.
Athletes: Are you aspiring to progress along the NSW Pathway? This program is designed to help athletes aged 15–16 (in 2025) develop technical and tactical skills, build fitness, strength, and speed, and make new friendships across NSW.
Umpires: Are you ready to take the next step in your umpiring journey? The program offers development opportunities for umpires aged 14–18 (in 2025), including mentoring from some of NSW’s best umpire coaches, as well as support to build confidence, knowledge, and on-court skills.
Coaches & Umpire Coaches: Do you want to shape the future of netball in NSW? This program allows coaches and umpire coaches to influence the next generation, learn from some of NSW’s most experienced mentors, and collaborate with peers from across the state.
Participants train regularly within their region as part of an Academy squad and also come together for Academy Camps, Academy Games, and the Academy Challenge—unique experiences that foster growth, competition, and connection. There are 12 Regional Academies across NSW. Athletes must trial with the Academy aligned to their residential address. To confirm your eligible Academy, see the Regional Academy of Sport Local Government Area Breakdown
